Note: nearest train station is Ormeau, 8.5 km to Jacobs Well.

The ride will start and finish in front of the park in Jacob Wells Road. The route has a pleasant stretch along Piimpama-Jacobs Well Road, and there are some lovely views to the south and west. The motorway is shielded by the cane fields so we are free to enjoy the hinterland views in the background and the felling of a nice road on a warm day almost all to ourselves.

We turn right onto Norwell Road and then right again on to New Norwell Road. The ride along both of these roads is a delight. After leaving Jacobs Well, you will eventually turn right on to Jacobs Well Road, passing through the very small township of Woongoolba. This road leads straight back to the start/finish.

A little over 18km from the start, you return to the town of Jacobs Well, regarded by many as the southern gateway to the Moreton Bay Marine park. Besides the obvious water based residents including dolphins, sharks, turtles and Dugongs, an estimated 50,000 shire birds live in the area too.

Coffee will be at one of the number of small cafes to choose from in Jacobs Well.

Distance: 19.3 km
